Maurizio Trombetta
(Udine, 29 settembre 1962) ex calciatore professionista ora allenatore di calcio di prima categoria (diploma Isef nel 1988 e corso master per allenatori professionisti di prima categoria nel 2001).
Ha iniziato la carriera da calciatore con l'Udinese squadra con la quale ha vinto (suo il gol nella finalissima contro la Roma) il Campionato Primavera nella stagione 1980/1981 insieme ai friulani Paolo Miano, Gianfranco Cinello, Loris Dominissini, Gigi De Agostini.
Personal Information
Ex professional player (born 29 september in Udine-Italy), now First Division coach (he graduated from the Institute of Higher Physical Education in 1988 and took the Italian Soccer Federation -FIGC- Master Course at the Coverciano Federal Center, Italy.
He started his career as a soccer player with the Udinese team that won the 1980/1981 "Primavera Young Championship" against AC Roma thanks to his goal during the final match (with famous players such as: Gigi De Agostini, Paolo Miano, Gianfranco Cinello).
As a professional player, he played with the teams of Udinese and Catanzaro (First division), Triestina (second division) and with Spal Pistoiese (Pistoia), Giorgione (Treviso) and Spal (Ferrara) in the third division.
Carriera
Ha iniziato ad allenare gli allievi dell'Udinese nel 1994. Dopo pochi mesi è stato chiamato da Giovanni Galeone sulla panchina dell'Udinese che all'epoca militava in Serie B. Come vice di Galeone ha vinto il Campionato di Serie B.
L'anno dopo ha seguito Galeone a Perugia vincendo il Campionato 1995/1996 e quindi va Napoli. Nel 1998 torna a Udine e questa volta è il vice di Francesco Guidolin. L'anno successivo (1999) con Guidolin va ad allenare il Bologna , sempre in Serie A , per 5 stagioni.
Nel 2003/2004 è ancora al fianco di Giovanni Galeone ad Ancona, torna di nuovo in Friuli sempre con il "Gale" a Udine per salvare l'Udinese nella stagione 2006/2007.
Nella stagione 2007/2008 inizia ad allenare non più come vice di qualcuno dopo 10 anni di professionismo si mette in gioco partendo dall'Eccellenza.
Il presidente del Sevegliano (Palmanova- Udine) Francesco Vidal, gli affida la squadra che è, a 7 giornate dall'inizio del campionato, ultima in classifica. Maurizio Trombetta salva la squadra e riesce a terminare il campionato al quarto posto (31 punti fatti nel girone di ritorno), e vince la Coppa Italia del Friuli Venezia Giulia battendo le prime due classificate del Campionato. La sua squadra termina la stagione subendo solo 22 gol e vanta quindi la miglior difesa del campionato. A fine stagione viene premiato come Miglior Allenatore del 2008 dei dilettanti friulani. Nel giugno 2008 viene ingaggiato come vice di Ioan Andone, dall'imprenditore rumeno Arpad Paszkany proprietario del CFR Cluj (Romania) squadra che lo scorso anno ha vinto il campionato e la Coppa di Romania. Paszkany vuole rinforzare lo staff proprio con un allenatore italiano per meglio affrontare l'avventura in Champions League.
Il 1 settembre 2008, viene esonerato Ioan Andone e gli viene affidata la squadra. Debutta con una vittoria in campionato a Bistrita e si ripete all'Olimpico in Champions League (16 settembre 2008) battendo a sorpresa la Roma di Spalletti per 2 a 1. Ancora una buona prova del Cfr Cluj contro il Chelsea vice campione d'Europa di Felipe Scolari che non riesce a tornare dalla Romania con una vittoria (0-0).

He started to coach the young players of Udinese Calcio in 1994. After few months, Giovanni Galeone First Coach of Udinese asked him to become his assistant and together they won the 1994/1995 second division Championship.
The next year he followed mister Galeone (famous to be the first in italy to play with a spectacular 4-3-3) to Perugia where they won the 1995-1996 Championship and brought the team to the first division. Then they go to coach Napoli (first division).
In 1998, he came back to Udine and became the Assistant Coach of Francesco Guidolin (a coach that paid a lot of attention to the defensive phase and to tactical details) . The following year (1999), Maurizio Trombetta followed Guidolin to Bologna, in first division, for 5 seasons.
He coached the Ancona team during the 2003/2004 season (first division) with mister Giovanni Galeone and then he was back again in Udine to save the Udinese during the 2006/2007 season.
After 10 years as assistant coach, he decided to start to work as first coach. Even if he is a professional coach, he started from the bottom with humbleness and passion.
The President of the team of Sevegliano, Francesco Vidal, entrusted Maurizio with the team on the 7th day of the championship when the team was on the last position.
Maurizio Trombetta saves the team and finishes the championship in fourth place (31 points made during the second half of the season) and won the Friuli Venezia Giulia Cup by beating the first two Championship leaders.
During 2008, he was awarded the Friuli Venezia Giulia Best Coach award and the Best Defense award.
In June 2008, the Romanian entrepreneur Arpad Paszkany, owner of CFR Cluj (the team that won the "Liga" First Division Championship and the Romania Cup last year) wanted him as assistant coach to Ioan Andone.
To participate in the first historic adventure in the Champions League, Paszkany wanted to strengthen its staff with an Italian coach.
On September 1st 2008, after the non-exciting results brought by mister Andone's team, the team's owner, Paszkany, gave Maurizio Trombetta the responsability of the team.
Maurizio debuts with a victory in the Romanian Championship against Bistrita and then beats Ac Roma in Champions League on September 16th 2008. Good results were attained also with Chelsesa, last season's UEFA Champions League runners-up (0-0 score).
And the adventure continues...
